Dell. Famous iconic brand
The Dell brand, of course, cannot be called a cult one. He is still too young. However, in the near future, it is likely that Dell will achieve cult status, because the company has enough inclinations for this.
Even now, there are many interesting stories to tell about Dell. Most of them, of course, are associated with the iconic Apple company, but there's nothing to be done - after all, both of these companies are fighting for primacy in the same category.
Here is one of them. When Apple was on the verge of bankruptcy, Michael Dell (the founder of Dell) publicly proposed to dissolve the company and distribute the remaining money to savers. To which a very risky response followed, that since then Apple considers Dell to be its main competitor. Time has shown that Apple does not throw words to the wind. However, Dell did not lose out either - after all, the recognition of such a giant of the computer industry as Apple is already worth a lot.
But what, besides funny tales, is Dell original? First of all, its special business strategy. After all, Dell never works with intermediaries, but sells goods directly - from the manufacturer to the buyer. This made it possible to reduce the prices of computers, as well as to learn firsthand about the shortcomings of the produced equipment. The second aspect of the original business strategy is that Dell never manufactures goods for future use, which means that it can change direction at any time. Well, the third and most important thing is the attention to its customers, which allows the company to sell each client computer equipment of exactly the configuration that the customer wishes.
Thus, although Dell does not shine with exclusive inventions (but it was Dell who first began selling computers over the Internet!), Still, the brand has earned trust for its quality, accuracy in order execution and a wide range of options.
And even though now Dell has no fans and fans (the words of Steve Jobs himself: “Have you ever heard of Dell fans?”), Still, the brand may well become a cult in the very near future.
But let's not rush things. Moreover, cult, as Dell has proven, is not the most important thing in the success of a company and brand. And who knows if not Dell, which owns most of the computer equipment market.
