Who does not know what MTV is now, when all over the globe, in all countries where there is television, there will definitely be an MTV channel available?

Moreover, if initially MTV was created for young people, now (the once young MTV viewers have already reached a respectable age) MTV works both for young people and for an older audience.

It all started when in 1981 a separate channel was created to broadcast pop music (video clips). And for the first time, MTV's first-run true masterpieces of music videos (such as Michael Jackson's "Thriller") have attracted the attention of young people both to the videos and to the MTV channel itself. Moreover, MTV gained fame not at all as a pop music channel, but on the contrary - young people recognized MTV as a very “advanced” channel broadcasting “unformatted music”.

Soon MTV became so popular that even such a world-famous singer as Sting once said: "I need my MTV." Whether it's a coincidence or the right marketing ploy, MTV is beginning to expand to provide viewers with exactly "their own MTV." This is how “their own MTV” appears in other countries, where, along with performers from the USA, local MTV channels broadcast video clips not only of famous world music, but also of local, popular only in one country only.

However, this is not all. MTV decided not to limit themselves to music. They began to create their own unique shows, which glorified MTV more than all the music they broadcast. First of all, this is the most unique project "The Osbourne Family", broadcasting a video recording of the life of the great and outrageous musician Ozzy Osbourne and his family. The audience was also impressed (surprised and even shocked) by the extraordinary animated series Beavis and Butt-head.

Yeah, it was just an incomparable takeoff. The MTV brand has become a cult and well-known brand. Young people from all over the world gathered to the TV screens, while their parents forbade them to watch “this horror”. But the youth won, MTV won. And now today's parents, who watched MTV around the clock ten or fifteen years ago, often forbid their children to watch "this horror." But again, MTV around the world attracts the attention of millions and millions of teenagers, boys and girls.

Although MTV is now subdivided into several separate channels, there are channels for rock music, rap and hip-hop, dance music, and even classic music from the 70s and 80s of the twentieth century.

However, the main audience of MTV is, of course, young people who are always ahead of the entire music world, so until now MTV has retained its status as an "advanced" music channel that broadcasts music "not for everyone."

To this day, MTV manages to keep its viewers to itself.

Today, the MTV brand is known all over the world, and more than 166 countries have their own MTV channels. The total number of MTV viewers reaches about half a billion people, if not more. So the oblivion of the cult brand MTV does not threaten.
