Kraft. Famous iconic brand
One of the most famous brands in the world is the Kraft brand. At one time, every average American knew by heart the simple but very effective commercial of the company: "America spells cheese K-r-a-f-t".
Now, however, the company's "subsidiary" brands are much more famous in the world - Maxwell House coffee, Jacobs, Milka, Nabisco, Philadelphia cream cheese and others.
Nevertheless, it is the Kraft brand that remains a special cult among all brands.
The history of the company begins with James Lewis Kraft, who patented a new technology for making cheese. But, probably, even Kraft himself in that distant 1916 did not suspect what heights his company would conquer.
The brand became famous not at all due to the special taste of branded cheese. Kraft owes its success primarily to an innovative advertising campaign.
Among all other brands, Kraft has become a true pioneer of advertising innovation. After all, this company was the first to introduce sponsorship as a marketing ploy. In 1933, the company sponsored Kraft Music Hall, one of the most successful radio shows in the States. This show was hosted by such American legends as Bing Crosby and Parry Como. This show has been on TV for 38 years.
Another significant advertising campaign for Kraft was the sponsorship of its own television drama theater (from which the famous soap operas would later grow) and a commercial television show (by the way, Kraft was the first to be advertised on television). It was later that television would be flooded with blocks of commercials that would be inserted between parts of various programs, shows and serials. And it is Kraft that will be the first to use such a trick. The innovation itself, of course, will later be criticized by many people, but nevertheless, such an advertising practice will be used in the mass media of all countries and will become a ubiquitous and even necessary phenomenon.
But when the idea was first implemented by the company, all Americans watched Kraft commercials with pleasure and even approved of such a novelty, finding their advantages in it (housewives, for example, did some housework during commercials if they needed to move away from the TV).
It is clear why the Kraft brand has become universally known and has become a real cult among the brands of the world.
But, and this should be emphasized in particular, despite the massive introduction of advertising in sponsored programs, the Kraft brand did not acquire the negative consequences usual for such an advertising campaign. And this is due to the fact that in the course of the advertising campaign, specialists created not just commercials advertising products, but tried to make advertising interesting, exciting, informative and unobtrusive.
That is, Kraft commercials were real high art, interesting for the audience. And that's why people really watched Kraft's commercials with interest. Such a move, by the way, will also go down as one of the standards in the history of advertising.
Since then, the world has changed dramatically. But the ideas applied by Kraft are actively used to this day.
And the Kraft brand is in a special place among all world brands.
