Johnnie Walker. Famous iconic brand

Johnnie Walker is one of the most famous brands today. Moreover, the brand is known much more than the alcoholic drink itself. Although, of course, the very unusual whiskey (or scotch) is respected and very popular. However, under the Johnnie Walker brand there are many different brands of whiskey - some are very expensive, but there are also quite simple cheap varieties.

Johnnie Walker. Iconic brand

The brand got its name in honor of the founder Johnny Walker, the owner of a grocery store, who at his leisure dabbled in mixing different varieties of tea (this is called "blending"). And he did quite well, so the inhabitants of the town became regulars in his shop and actively bought up his blended teas. Later, Walker decided to try whiskey blending, and - good luck! - achieved good results. Walker's whiskey sold with a bang, bringing the owner popularity and a good income.

However, it will be many more years before the descendants of Johnnie Walker develop a big business, acquire a “distillery”, start bottling their unique alcoholic drink, and eventually patent the Johnnie Walker brand and their own branded bottles in time. So Johnnie Walker's whiskey became the famous Johnnie Walker brand with a catchy oblique label and the world-famous walking man with a cane and a monocle.

It is precisely thanks to this hand-drawn little man that the Johnnie Walker brand has become more popular than even the product itself. Firstly, because the author of this picture label is the famous cartoonist Tom Brown, and his drawing turned out to be really characteristic, interesting and memorable.

Secondly, the name of the creator of Walker, which in translation means “to go” (here he is a walking man) is characteristic in itself, which was often played up with all kinds of advertising campaigns (for example: “Keep Walking”, which means “Keep walking!” And at the same time "keep drinking Walker").

Thirdly, well, it turned out to be a very good alcoholic drink (and original) - Johnny Walker knew how to make excellent whiskey. And the last argument has become the most important in the popularity of the brand, because much more people know about Johnnie Walker whiskey than those who drink it.

Yes, and the Johnnie Walker brand itself turned out to be somehow unusually optimistic and lively - “moving”, as all kinds of researchers, marketers and people who are simply captivated by good whiskey say.

Today, the world's population consumes more than 120 million bottles of Johnnie Walker per year (at least that's how much it is produced), and the Johnnie Walker brand itself is consumed, of course, in much larger quantities (if I may say so).
