Campbell's. Famous iconic brand

One of the most famous brands in the world is the Campbell's brand. During its existence, Campbell's soups has experienced a lot - there were fantastic ups, but there were also rapid falls.

However, the company not only survived, but managed to make its Campbell's brand one of the most famous, most recognizable and revered. Now in the US market, Campbell soups account for 85% of all products in this category, and outside the country they have a 10% share.

The Campbell's soups company was founded a very long time ago - back in 1869. The founders were Joseph Campbell (after whom the company is named), a simple fruit seller, and Abraham Anderson, a tinsmith who made cans. Later, however, Anderson sold his share to Campbell, which, probably, he regretted more than once after, because year after year the company was only gaining momentum and becoming more and more famous.

However, the cult brand Campbell's was made by the famous artist-designer Andy Warhol. It was he who realized that the buyer should not sell soups, as such, but the brand, the brand. And thanks to Warhol, Campbell's soups got a bold, simple design with red and white color schemes that immediately set Campbell's apart from other products. Moreover, all Campbell's soups products had the same design, no matter if it was chicken noodle soup, mushroom or tomato soup. Later, this specific design find will even be called the “monotonous effect”. Well, after Warhol embodied the symbolism of Campbell's in one of his works, the brand moved from the well-known category to the category of a real cult and became an object of reverence for many people.

Another advertising success of Campbell's soups was the special illustrations on the cans, which, with the light hand of the people, received the name "Campbell's Children". Initially, illustrations on soups were placed based on a female audience (mothers), but these interesting original and funny pictures attracted the attention of American children, who began to collect pictures and looked forward to the appearance of new ones, begging their parents to buy Campbell's soups just in order to get the desired pictures.

But, of course, Campbell's soups had to fight for a place in the sun. By the end of the 20th century, the company was in a protracted crisis, and after a series of unsuccessful attempts, when the leaders were replaced one after another, but could not pull the company out of the crisis, David Johnson, who took over the chair in 1997, had to cut jobs heavily, especially by thinning out the management staff, which was too overgrown in the company.

But the Campbell's soups company successfully overcame all crises, and over the years of work, the brand has firmly established itself in the minds of people. And now those who buy Campbell's products are guided primarily by the fame and high status of the Campbell`s brand.
