Camel. World famous brand
Today, the Camel brand (like many other tobacco brands) is no longer so well known, although at one time Camel cigarettes were as well known as the legendary Marlboro brand. However, the Camel brand itself still remains iconic and holds an honorable fifth place among other tobacco brands.
But even if Camel did not become the best-selling cigarettes in the world, they still went down in history thanks to a very original advertisement. The advertising campaign began with the fact that one day, images of camels with the inscription "Camel" appeared in many newspapers. This happened back in 1913 in the USA. The next day, readers could see in the newspapers the same image of an exotic animal with a threatening caption "Camels are coming!" A day later, the caption became completely crazy: "Tomorrow there will be more camels in the city than in Asia and Africa combined!" It is not known what the readers of the press thought - whether they threw themselves out of windows or took guns out of basements, but the next day their lives and minds were threatened only by modest cigarettes with a camel on the pack.
Another interesting story happened when a musical group with the same name "Camel" released their album with a cover identical to the picture of a cigarette pack. Many residents of the United States began to resent this design, so the "Camel" team agreed with a tobacco company before touring in Europe and they released cigarettes with the cover of the group's album.
And there is another significant difference of Camel cigarettes. This is that any Camel cigarette contained a mixture of Turkish and Virginia tobacco. What is special about this mixture? Well, that this mixture later became considered the standard of tobacco quality and even received a separate name - American Blend. Later, the description American Blend adorned many different brands of cigarettes.
So the Camel brand was not so simple. And it was not at all for nothing that it became famous all over the world (even among those who do not smoke). To this day, cigarettes under the Camel brand are sold in more than a hundred countries around the world, although, of course, there are many more countries where you can buy these famous cigarettes.
Of course, we would like to repeat the warning of the Ministry of Health once again that smoking is harmful and dangerous to health, and it is better not to smoke cigarettes, but we should still give credit to the Camel brand - it was really very famous in many countries.
