Burberry. Famous iconic brand
The iconic brand Burberry has existed on the British market for a very long time - since 1856, when the founder of the brand, Thomas Burberry, invented a special textile fiber, which even received a separate name - "gabardine", which the British appreciated so highly that even the royal family approved of it, and it was from gabardine began to sew clothes for the English army.
Yes, waterproof gabardine turned out to be very practical, but for almost a hundred years, Burberry was content with only this product and did nothing to popularize it. Yes, Burberry branded gabardine pieces were sold even in central London's GUS department stores, but in the world everything is constant, and Burberry has remained unchanged.
And maybe Burberry simply ceased to exist one day, but one of the new owners, Rose Mary Bravo, decided that the company deserved more. Bravo did not change the direction of the company - after all, the quality of the gabardine material speaks for itself, but she invested a lot of money in advertising plaid gabardine fabric, turning it from a practical material into a real fashionable material, creating an image of real luxury for it. Burberry even bought such famous women as Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham to advertise their own product. And the British immediately began to actively buy up the same gabardine, because it has become fashionable. Moreover, Bravo managed to raise the image of the Burberry brand so much that it became no less popular than such giant brands as Louis Vuitton or Prada.
Additional advertising for the Burberry brand was made by the famous film "Casablanca", the hero of which wore a Burberry coat.
So now the Burberry brand is back on top, and durable gabardine has become associated with fashionable urban clothing.
True, with the popularity of gabardine, football fans also chose it for themselves, and since they often arrange all sorts of hooligan antics, this “tarnished” the reputation of the brand a little. But it is not for nothing that gabardine is precisely waterproof, so the hooliganism of football fans did not particularly negatively affect the image of the Burberry brand. And the company now leads often likes to mention in advertising that their branded products will suit everyone - both punk rockers and queens.
Now the Burberry brand is known in many countries of the world and Burberry products are bought by both simple fashionistas and people who, for one reason or another, need strong, reliable clothes. At the same time, since the day of its foundation, the company has been using only one invention - gabardine. However, it is in it that the special mark of quality of the Burberry brand lies.
