Subway. Famous iconic brand

How does the iconic Subway brand stand out from its fast food competitors? And fast food brands are very famous - there are very few people in the world who do not know McDonald's, Subway, BurgerKing and others?

Subway. Iconic brand

At first glance, Subway is less popular. But in reality it only seems so. After all, Subway does not need as much advertising as its competitors, because Subway, as a brand, is much more understandable, since its specialization is very narrow - these are branded submarine sandwiches, and they trust it more, since Subway emphasizes not only the "tasty" of its products, but also its "healthiness" (in contrast to the same McDonald's, whose fatty foods have long been attacked by the guardians of a healthy lifestyle).

When Fred DeLuca created Subway, he needed to somehow stand out and be remembered among already well-known firms that had already firmly occupied the niche of fast food, where DeLuca was trying to infiltrate.

That is why DeLuca decided to limit himself to only one product - the so-called submarine sandwiches (a long sandwich with a Subway filling really looks like a submarine). Of course, DeLuca was not the inventor of this type of sandwich, but they surprisingly suited the name of the Subway company, or maybe vice versa, the name of the company fit these sandwiches. Which in general is no longer important, because now submarine sandwiches are associated primarily with Subway.

However, such a decision not only allowed Subway to stand out and be remembered, but also to save a lot on production, because it is much easier to produce one product than many different ones.

In addition, DeLuca was very scrupulous about the quality of his own goods, which was highly appreciated by consumers. So Subway soon became as popular as fast food monsters like McDonald's and Chicken. And in some positions it even overtook them (for example, according to surveys by Entrepreneur magazine, Subway turned out to be the most popular fast food manufacturer).

Subway now owns more than 20,000 restaurants worldwide and sells well in no less than 76 countries.

So Subway today has become a real cult brand (although its history only began in the 80s of the twentieth century), easy to remember, with a good reputation and associated exclusively with submarine sandwiches, since the company does not produce anything else.
