Colgate. Famous iconic brand
It's not for nothing that the iconic brand Colgate claims to be No.1 in the world. Indeed, Colgate toothpaste can boast of superiority in many areas, and not just in terms of sales worldwide.
Although the first is very important, because Colgate is actively sold and bought well in more than 200 countries.
And the history of the brand began in 1873, when William Colgate (who gave his name to the brand) developed his first toothpaste (before that, he had already produced fragrant soap, candles and starch). True, there has not yet been anything revolutionary in this toothpaste. And the revolution came when Colgate decided to pack his products in tubes (before that, toothpaste was packaged in jars), which increased the hygiene of the product.
Thus began the era of Colgate toothpaste and the popularity of the brand.
However, Colgate was not the first in everything. Their main competitor, Crest, beat out Colgate's company when it added fluoride to toothpaste in 1955, which at the time was widely known to prevent plaque formation.
So Colgate had to be second this time.
However, the company did not despair and developed a unique novelty - Colgate Total, which solved three important problems of that day at once: plaque, dental cavities and caries.
So Colgate again became leaders.
Another important championship in the history of the company is the release of a special toothpaste for children (from 9 to 14 years old) - Blue Minty Gel.
After that, no one managed to push Colgate out of the leader's chair (although there were quite serious attempts). Moreover, Colgate did not allow itself to relax and released more and more new and improved forms of toothpaste. In 2000 alone, the company launched more than 900 new products into mass production.
So maybe the cult brand Colgate quite deservedly calls itself No.1 in the whole world.
