Nintendo. Famous iconic brand

At the end of the 20th century, the Nintendo brand was probably the most famous brand in computer games. Then the glory of Nintendo thundered (and this is not an exaggeration) around the world. Still, it was an amazing time - the time of the emergence and heyday of computer games. It was under the Nintendo brand that games appeared that in those years seemed truly masterpieces (and are still among the popular games all over the world) - Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Castlevania, Final Fantasy, Street Fighter, TMNT, Pokemon and others.

Nintendo. Iconic brand

But not only games can boast of the cult brand Nintendo. And above all, with their unique consoles that have changed the world of games (and indeed the whole world) - Game & Watch, Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy, Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Game & Watch is one of the simplest but really interesting inventions that turned the gaming industry upside down. It was from this console that the so-called "pocket game consoles" went. Well, the next generation of handheld consoles was the iconic Game Boy, which today is one of the most beloved games for children and adults. Well, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) consoles were second only to the Sega game consoles (and even then only in the USA, but not in Japan).

But Nintendo started with the fact that they sold ordinary playing cards. In real life. A little later, the company launched the production of toys. And only then Nintendo began to produce computer games, slot machines and consoles.

Nintendo's first big hit was Donkey Kong, which would later become the most popular game in the world, Mario. And the first console, thanks to which games entered the house of ordinary people (this required the actual console and TV), was the 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). It was the greatest breakthrough in the gaming world. And the NES has become the best-selling console on the planet. Moreover, a lot of very impressive games were released for their own prefix Nintendo.

Before the world has had time to enjoy all the features of the NES, Nintendo is already launching another unique invention on the market - the Game Boy. And although the pocket game console was weaker than the same NES and Sega, it still outperformed them and other competitors in sales.

Nintendo's next pioneering development was the 16-bit SNES. Together with the Sega Mega Drive (also 16-bit), they conquer the entire global gaming market.

However, after that, Nintendo's dark days begin. First the Virtual Boy failed, and then the Nintendo 64 failed. The Nintendo 64 failed because the company preferred game cartridges to the newly released CDs. And although the console itself turned out to be quite good, many game developers refused to make games on cartridges specifically for the Nintendo 64. The CD-ROM won, and with them one of the most popular PlayStation game consoles was now on the wave.

However, the story of Nintendo does not end there. Ahead of the company is waiting for another stunning success - it's Pokemon. The game was first developed for the Game Boy, but has outgrown it. Pokemon mania has taken over the world. And, apparently remembering the beginning of his career, Nintendo is launching soft toys, playing cards, even clothing and Pokemon comics.

Nintendo is still releasing new game consoles - GameCube, Nintendo DS and others, but there are many successful companies in the gaming world now, and Nintendo is now just one of them. Although the financial turnover of the company is quite good - the net profit is more than 1 billion dollars.

And although today Nintendo is no longer the only favorite brand among fans of computer games, it is this cult brand that will forever remain in world history and one of the most significant figures in the gaming industry.
